 Useful Academic Tips

Are you struggling with grades? Trying really hard but still not able to accomplish desirable grades?

Here are some scientifically proven tips and advice to prepare for a test/exam or to study regularly.
Implementing these easy & simple tips in your daily life study routine will surely help you efficiently and effectively to learn new and important things.

* FACT OF THE DAY: "Don't simply mug the knowledge up but understand it well and try to implement it your life."

Without further ado lets get started:-

1. GET RID OF DISTRACTION

You have to overcome distractions when its study time.
    • Put your device in silent mode or on do not disturb. If you have a crucial or necessary work which includes the usage of mobile then, I suggest you put it on Focus mode. In this way, you can study proficiently as well as hard to get distracted.
    • Switch the network Off. (for better concentration or focus)
    • Ask for privacy- don't let people distract you by asking for things that are wasting your time. You have a lot left after completing your study session to talk or hold a conversation with your family. You can calmly and politely ask them "I have an extremely important upcoming test, I have to do my best in the exam that's why I need to concentrate. If you don't mind can I have my privacy for the next 2-4 hours?"

2. EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWERS TO OTHERS

Personally, this tip helped me a lot in understanding a concept better. Teaching someone in the easiest way possible helps you to understand it better.
some points to keep in mind!
  • Keep in mind & listen to others' points of view.
  • Listen and respond to questions.
  •  Avoid talking down to people.
  •  Ask questions to the person to see if she/ he understand the concept well
  •  Focus on benefits, not features.
  •  Compare new concepts to familiar ones.

3. TAKE REGULAR BREAK

Thinking that studying as many hours as possible in a day is the best way to study - then this is not the truth.
for an average person, you can concentrate with full focus up to 90 minutes - 2 hours.
so, take regular breaks.
Use the Promo-doro Technique, you can use the rule,
  1. 25-5 [ 25- minutes study and 5-minute break]
  2. 35-5 [35-minute study and 5-minute break]
  3. 45-5 [45- minute study and 5- minute break]
if you feel that you have the potential for studying up to 2-3 hours, you can use the rule,
  1. 1-10/ 1-15
  2. 2-10/ 2-15
  3. 3-10/ 3-15
