Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti 

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated on 14th April. This year (2021) is his 130th birthday! 

First of all, let us learn who was Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar?

Babasaheb Ambedkar's full name is Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. He was born in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh (now is known as Dr. Ambedkar Nagar). He was an Indian jurist, economist, social reformer, and politician. He has done a lot of extraordinary and outstanding things in his life. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is recognised as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. His birth anniversary is celebrated on 14 April as Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti to praise and respect his countless assistance and contributions in the making of an Independent India.

Fun fact: He was the number One world-class scholar according to the ministry of social justice, Government of India. 

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was the initial Indian to get a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Economics from abroad.

He is the only Indian whose statue is bound to Karl Marx in the London Museum.

Mahant Veer Chandramani", a great Buddhist monk who initiated Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar to Buddhism and also called him "the modern Buddha of this age".

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was a genius in 64 subjects. He knew 9 languages like Hindi, Pali, Sanskrit, English, French, German, Marathi, Persian, and Gujarati. Apart from this, he researched all the religions of the world for almost 21 years.

 In 1954, World Buddhist Council held in Kathmandu (Nepal), Buddhist monks had given Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar the greatest title of Buddhism "Bodhisattva". His popular and outstanding book "The Buddha and his Dhamma" is the scripture of Indian Buddhists.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar had considered three great men, Lord Buddha, Saint Kabir, and Mahatma Phule as his instructors.

 The highest amount of statues in the world is of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He was the first lawyer from the backward class.

 Based on a global survey called "The Makers of the Universe" a list of the top 100 humanist people of the last 10 thousand years was made by Oxford University, in which the fourth name was Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Such a great accomplishment! 

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar has achieved a lot of Awards / Honors:- 

 Bodhisattva (1956), Bharat Ratna (1990), First Colombian Ahead of Their Time (2004), The Greatest Indian (2012)

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is the first and just person in the world to earn a valuable doctorate named "Doctor All Science" from the London School of Economics. Many intelligent students have attempted it, but they have not been successful until now. Worldwide the highest quantity of music and editions written in the name of the leader is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Governor Lord Linlithgow and Mahatma Gandhiji believed that Babasaheb is more intelligent and creative than 500 graduates and thousands of scholars.

Quick story of his life, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was a Dalit (Dalit is a low caste) (the literal meaning: oppressed or broken.), and hence he was not admired which is sad to hear as He was a charm of our country who made us a self-sufficient and independent nation and made us glorious! Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar took off to London to retain his degree for barrister-at-law. [London School of Economics (M.Sc., D.Sc.) Gray's Inn Barrister-at-Law] population in London respected Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar more than the people did in India. People didn't acknowledge and admit his achievement because of his caste at that time. 

Because many people discriminated against the Dalit caste, he was also asking for a separate electorate back then when we didn't possess our constitution and we were under the British. British was ready to grant them, but Mahatma Gandhi was not happy and hence he requested him to discontinue his demand and other Indian National Congress member requested him and hence respecting others opinion, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar signed the Poona Pact with Mahatma Gandhi in which the intention of Separate electoral for the Dalit was cancelled! (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was the representative of Dalits in the round table conference.) 

Now you see that there are a lot of things to appreciate Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar with!
